We are looking for students to provide voice and direction to the research project here at the U of A. These groups work to identify, evaluate, and review areas of student mental health to make recommendations that can improve outcomes.
Assessment Tool Working Group
Objectives include identifying, evaluating and recommending existing self-assessment tools that can help students identify mental health challenges and provide self-help modules, recommendations and referrals to campus and community resources.
- Recruiting 4-5 students
- The working group meets for one hour each month, with 2 to 3 hours of committee work between meetings. We will meet on December 7, 2016 at 10 a.m. and will set our Winter meeting schedule at that meeting.
Peer Mentorship/Training Inventory Working Group
Objectives include mapping all peer mentorship programs on campus and reviewing training provided to those in mentor roles, determining key competencies mentors should have/receive training on, and creating a training tool kit to be distributed to program providers that will enhance mentor training.
- Recruiting 2-3 students.
- The working group meets monthly on the second Tuesday of each month from 2-3 p.m. Additional sub-committee meetings may require an additional 2-hour commitment/month.
Student E-Space Working Group
Objectives include identifying and mapping current student online spaces and recommending areas for development in supporting student mental health.
- Recruiting 3-4 students.
- The working group meets monthly beginning December 2016 and will set the Winter Term schedule at the first meeting.
